SELF CONTROL TO OVERCOME YOUR PASSIONS

If we make every effort to avoid the death of the body, still more should it be our endeavor to avoid the death of the Soul. There is no obstacle for a man who wants to be saved other than negligence and laziness of the Soul.

We must deal with all our passions and overcome them one by one.

What are the Passions and How to Fight Them?

Saint Basil the Great explains passions. He starts first by defining what is a virtue, which is when we take the faculties and gifts that God created inside us when He created us in His image and use those same faculties and gifts to be able to turn towards God and to turn into His likeness. Contrary to this is what the passions are: we take those same faculties and gifts and turn toward something that is temporal, that is created, instead of using them towards the Creator. Thus, our passions and pleasures, grow and develop inside us.

After defining virtues and passions, we must now understand where passions came from. They were never part of the original image of God that was placed inside of humanity. Therefore, what the Christian has to realize is that virtue is what is natural, and the unnatural is seeing passions develop inside the human being.

It is not natural, neither normal, for us to give in to the passions. It is when humanity fell and distanced itself from God and from His goodness that passions came to be. We let ourselves exposed to the evil that could occur inside us.

Now, what do the passions do to us?

What we see is that when a person is overtaken by his/her passions, something inside him/her happens and that something is unruly. It becomes an addiction, so he/she acts in an unnatural way. Thus, this is a struggle and there comes a state of illness. The Fathers of the Church speak of passions as if they turned a person mad (madness, craziness).

Why? Because passion pushes people to do things that naturally they themselves would not do.

The Passions: self-love, gluttony, lust, love of money and greed, sadness, apathy and boredom, anger, fear, vainglory, and pride. They are all interconnected. 

Important: By breathing the Energy of your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulator into your Energy Field you manifest in the Quantum Field your desire to connect with the Supreme Consciousness of God.

Sit down and put your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulator over your legs above your knees, then put your palms over it and say the “Jesus’ Prayer” as it shows us the way towards true humility – “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner” or the “Lord’s Prayer”.

This is very important because in this way your Soul will start communicating with the Spiritual Energy (Word of God) which is inside your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulators!

The power of Praying to God, coming from your heart, means you are ready to open it and to receive the Lord as your Savior.

Now when you manifest your faith in God by praying to Him and while still keeping your palms over your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulator take a deep breath, inhale the air coming as Divine Light from your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulator through your nose and keep the inhaled air in your body for at least three to four seconds. Now exhale the air slowly through your mouth towards your whole Bio Field and repeat the process of breathing for two to three minutes. Even more, if you want. It is always up to you. There is no strict timing.

You are relaxed and ready to allowing your mind to start listening to your heart.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Now read the Word of God again. Think over them.

Ask yourself: How can I defeat the passions within me?

Now say:
“Dear Lord, I thank you that I can come to You always for any reason. I’m grateful that when I pray to You, You answer me. Help me to come to You at the beginning of my fears and anxieties instead of waiting until I can’t stand them anymore. The quicker I come to You the better. You want to free me from ALL my fears. Help me look to You for help more often so that I can be radiant with Your joy. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.”

“Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21)

Feel the Divine Light of God that illuminates you and by purifying your Energy System, and by increasing your own energy vibrational power you stop being in the darkness.

Right now, in this very special moment inhale the air of your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulator and visualize how the Divine Peace of Lord is entering your body through your navel and then fulfilling every Energy Center of yours while you still keep the inhaled air in your body for 3 seconds.

See and feel how all passions of yours are erased by the Divine Light of God! They are not coming already from within your heart and mind. You do not suffer anymore. You do not allow the desires of your body and mind to control your life. You are not lead to sinfulness anymore. You are not opposed to the will and the ways of Lord anymore.

Then exhale the air from your mouth visualizing it is going to and fulfilling your Solar Plexus & Heart Energy Centers and your whole Aura!

Say that in your heart lives the light of the Virtues of God that does not fail.

Now pray for mercy and open your heart for God by saying this prayer:

“Lord Jesus I need you. Thank you for dying on the Cross for my sins! I open the door of my life and receive you as my savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of a person you want me to be. Amen”

The Divine Light of Lord is within your heart. Your Consciousness is part of the Supreme Consciousness of God!

By practicing during your Praying and Meditation time with your Soul Energy Noosphere Regulators, it increases the divine light power of your Spirit and makes it alive so that God can speak to you.

God knows that we are weak and we will fall down many times as we walk with Christ. He knows we are all “works in progress” and knowing that He has allowed for our imperfections while we are going through the process of transformation to overcome the passions of the flesh.

And God has not left us without the things we need to have the victory over the passions of the flesh. He has given us many things to enable us to fight our own passions, the main gift being the giving of the Holy Spirit. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to transform us into the image of Jesus Christ, and that means specifically to help us overcome the passions of the flesh, as the scripture says:

“…for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Romans 8:13-14

The keyword in this verse is YOU. If YOU by the Holy Spirit put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to transform you into the image of Lord Jesus Christ, but you must activate the Holy Spirit to fight when needed.

And in order to arm the Holy Spirit to be able to help us in our time of need, we MUST study the scriptures and absorb them into our hearts and minds. This is critical to being able to overcome the passions of the flesh.
