TROUBLE REMINDS THE WISE MAN OF GOD
Greece
Everyone has troubles. We face problems, affliction, suffering, and hardship. We need strength, endurance and patience.
Why do people suffer? Are all trials are the result of sin committed by the one who suffers?
Sometimes people suffer as a result of their sins. All people suffer as a result of Adam and Eve’s sin. Some suffering is simply a temptation from Satan.
We should expect suffering to come, so our faith will not be shaken when it does. We have to use our free will to stop given into temptation and committed sin.
“Trouble reminds the wise man of God, but crushes those who forget Him. So, whoever desires to eliminate future tribulations must bear present tribulations with joy.” Based on Saint Mark the Ascetic
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you’re going to take with you into eternity.
“We can rejoice when we run into problems they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. (Rom. 5:3-4, LB)”
